about

This album, originally released around 2000, is a collaboration between well-known producer Nana Gazor and traditional fiddler Abdul "Gonje" Samed. Samed earned his nickname from his association with the Dagomba one-string fiddle, called the gonje. "Naa Sigli Oyaba" is very popular in the Northern Region, selling through many runs of tape pressings. It remains one of the few attempts to mix the traditional and contemporary styles of the region.
